Steve’s Story
from Nurse to Founder
Our founder, Steve Murphy, is a qualified and experienced Veterinary Nurse with a long-standing passion for animal welfare.
His dream? A welcoming, community-focused vet practice that puts care, connection, and calm at the heart of every appointment. After many years of working in large referral hospitals both in the UK and overseas he felt it was time to create a local, independent practice in his hometown with compassion, empathy and warmth at its core.
In 2024, that dream took shape when Steve developed a winning business plan and secured funding from the bank to build Jarden Vets – a purpose-built practice right here in Olney, in the former Nourish building just off Weston Road.
Drawing on positive initiatives he has witnessed throughout his career and complementing these with his own fresh ideas for companion animal care, he is looking forward to welcoming you to Jarden Vets.
